National Geospatial Program Office Partnership
The GICC and USGS National Geospatial Program Office (NGPO) formally established a framework for coordination and cooperation in December 2005. The
Agreement
facilitates the implementation of collaborative activities in areas of mutual interest that support the development of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI). It also provides the framework for implementing a focused strategy that will enable the NGPO and local, state, regional, tribal and federal NSDI partners to work together in order to share data, leverage investments and expenditures, enhance intergovernmental cooperation, and support the recommendations in the NSDI Future Directions Fifty States Initiative Action Plan. It promotes USGS assistance in implementing strategic and business plans that support the development of the NSDI.
The NGPO Geospatial Liaison for North Carolina is
Gary Merrill
(803.750.6124) of the US Geological Survey. Gary works hand-in-hand with the GICC and CGIA staff to promote the initiatives of the GICC.
